Your Branding Photoshoot Game Plan By Rick Feldman Photography

1. Get Clear on Your Brand & Goals

Before we even show up:

Your Story: What do you want people to know about you?
Your Audience: Who are these photos for? Who do you want walking through your door or sliding into your DMs?
Your Goals: Website, social, marketing—what’s the main purpose of these shots?

Pro Tip: Pick three words that sum up the vibe you want: confident, approachable, bold, playful—whatever fits.

2. Wardrobe & Styling

Your outfit says a lot before you even speak. Here’s the plan:

  • Bring 2–3 Options: Mix it up with different colors, textures, and layers.

  • Fit & Comfort: If it doesn’t feel good, it won’t look good.

  • Patterns & Colors: Solid colors are your friend. Avoid tiny patterns or logos—they can get messy on camera.

  • Accessories & Props: Items that tell your story—think laptops, notebooks, coffee cups, branded gear.

Hair & Makeup: You don’t need a glam squad, but looking polished goes a long way. Keep it natural and true to you.

3. Locations & Backgrounds

Where we shoot sets the tone:

Indoor: Your office, studio, or workspace—somewhere that screams “this is me.”
Outdoor: City streets, parks, or anywhere that matches your brand’s vibe.
Props & Details: Anything that helps tell your story, from products to personal touches.

4. Prep the Night Before

  • Sleep & Hydrate: You’ll thank me later.

  • Skincare & Grooming: Moisturize, brush your hair, and keep it simple.

  • Pack Essentials: Makeup for touch-ups, lint roller, water, and snacks.

Avoid new haircuts or heavy skincare the day before—you want to look like the best version of you, not an experiment gone wrong.

5. Poses & Expressions

Don’t worry if you’re not a model. We’ll guide you through every pose—but a little prep goes a long way.

  • Practice in the Mirror: Experiment with a few natural smiles, serious looks, and angles that feel comfortable.

  • Use Pinterest for Inspiration: Create a mood board of poses and styles you like. Try searching terms like:

    • “Professional headshot poses”

    • “Creative entrepreneur branding photos”

    • “Lifestyle business portraits”

    • “Confident woman/men portraits”

    • “Small business owner photo ideas”

  • Think About Your Vibe: Confident, approachable, playful, relaxed—whatever matches your brand personality.

Bring your mood board or favorite images to the shoot. It gives me a starting point, helps guide posing, and ensures your photos feel authentic and aligned with your brand.

6. What Happens on Shoot Day

  • Timing: Usually 1–2 hours, depending on outfits and locations.

  • Outfit Changes: We’ll keep it smooth, no stress.

  • Guidance: I’ll tell you how to move, where to look, and when to laugh. Seriously, you just show up.

7. After the Shoot

  • Gallery: You’ll get a private gallery to review.

  • Editing: Professional, polished, branded to you.

  • Delivery: Digital files ready for web, social, or print.

8. Quick Tips to Crush It

  • Be yourself. The real you is what works.

  • Bring your energy and confidence—it shows.

  • Speak up! Props, outfits, ideas—you know what you want, I’ll make it happen.
